session costs & Aqualicious Membership
Whether you’re an Aqualicious member or a guest, the session cost is $9.00 and you must register and pay online (https://aqualicious.as.me/schedule.php) prior to attending. These fees help us cover our coaching, lane hire, administrative expenses.
In addition to the session cost, a pool entry fee is payable to the pool on arrival. Details can be found on the UniSC website (https://www.usc.edu.au/sport/fees).
If you’re not a member of a Masters swimming club, you’re welcome to swim with us for up to a month from the date of your first session. However, for public liability insurance purposes, if you wish to continue to swim with us after that initial month then you’ll need to become a member of the Aqualicious Masters Swimming Club.
We currently have two membership options available (see below). Aqualicious only receives a small portions of these fees (about $19 for option 1 and $31 for option 2) which help us cover our club’s ongoing operating expenses. The remainder are the fees charged by Masters Swimming Australia and Masters Swimming Queensland.

club membership (option 2)

How well do I have to swim to join?
Squad sessions are run across several lanes, with training programs that cater to a wide range of abilities, from the novice to the serious, competitive swimmer. At a minimum, we ask that you can swim at least 100m of continuous freestyle (with fins is fine). If you are not quite there yet, we recommend a learn-to-swim session at your local pool.
do i need equipment, or do you provide it?
You will need to bring some personal equipment with you and take it home after the session (i.e. we do not have storage at the pool):
- Goggles – Chlorine in the eyes isn’t fun, and seeing where you are going is handy. If you stick with it and you wear glasses, you may wish to purchase prescription goggles online.
- Swimmers/Togs/Cossie/Bathers – we don’t care what you call them, but you will need your own pair to each session. It’s your choice and depends on what you’re comfortable with. But, one piece togs for girls and boys briefs that are designed for competitive and lap swimming will be the most comfortable.
- Fins/flippers & pull buoy – while not mandatory, we will use these most sessions especially during warm up. They will help you get the most out of your session.
- Kick board – kicking will be included in some of our sessions, but it comes down to personal preference whether you do so using a kick board or not.
- A Towel. You’re gonna get wet, and you’re going to want to get dry.
- Dress for the season… We swim all year round and you’ll need a jumper in winter (it’s ok, the pool is heated).
- A can-do attitude! This isn’t strictly necessary, but it’ll make things more fun for everyone.
